Living a creative life is what makes my heart sing. I was born in San Francisco and received treasures from my parents: from my mother, the gift of seeing color and beauty, and from my father, design and problem solving. I studied graphic design and photography at the University of Kansas, then earned an MFA at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
My dad said I took pictures of weird things; I know that I don't see like the others. When I have the camera in hand, I'm rarely looking for a particular subject. I tend to let my attention slacken, waiting to discover what will make its presence known. It can be a flash of color, the lettering on a sign, or the wabi-sabi of peeling paint on window shutters.
I live and work in Occitanie, France.
