Rencontre avec un Cathare par Joshua Elias

(né en 1957 à Chicago, dans l'Illinois) - L'artiste abstrait Joshua est connu pour son travail contenant à la fois des personnages reconnaissables et méconnaissables d'un autre monde, situés dans des paysages mystérieux.

Les peintures à l'huile pures d'Elias illustrent son intérêt continu pour le plan interstitiel.

Après avoir obtenu un BFA à l'Université d'État de San Diego, ses études de cinéma et de théâtre se sont orientées vers la peinture à l'huile en studio chez Otis Parsons à Los Angeles.

Joshua découvre des lieux spirituels récurrents - un cadre visuel défini pour la mise en scène d'anciens mythes.

Ses participations comprennent :

- Retraite des écrivains en Islande en 2016/2017.

- Exposition d'œuvres tectoniques appelée Rock Light.

Une publication de Rock Light de Lumen Press, combinant poésie et œuvres d'art visuelles, a été publiée en 2018. Le président Gudni d'Islande a acheté l'une de ces œuvres originales, Skin of the Sea, maintenant exposée à la State House à l'extérieur de Reykjavik.

- Résidence d'artiste au 3.1, Saissac, dans la Montagne Noire. Publication du livre à suivre en 2023.

L'artiste travaille quotidiennement dans son studio d'art au Brewery Arts Complex à Los Angeles.

Elias’ pure oil paintings exemplify his continued interest in the interstitial plane.

After earning a BFA at San Diego State University, his cinema and theater studies shifted into studio oil painting at Otis Parsons in Los Angeles.

Joshua uncovers recurring Spiritual locations- a defined visual setting for the playing out of ancient myths.

Some highlights include:

• Writers Retreat in Iceland in 2016/2017.
• Exhibition of tectonic works called Rock Light.

A publication of Rock Light from Lumen Press, combining poetry and visual artworks was issued in 2018. President Gudni of Iceland purchased one of these original works, Skin of the Sea, now displayed in the State House outside of Reykjavik.
